Well I have got great grades on my first report card and I have made many more friends this year. I have not lost any of my old friends though they are all still here and we are more in touch this year to. My new friends are also great so socially I think I am doing good. Also academically I think I am doing good. Because my parents were satisfied by my previous report card. I have also learned a lot of skills. Especially social skills as you can see. I have also learned some study skills and organization skills. Like the read and get tested method for studying and big tests. Never failed me. Except once it didn't work to my expectations but it still didn't fail so I was satisfied. One of the other skills I have mastered is opening my lockers. That is a big one from sixth grade onwards because you use them everyday. The skill is very important and I have mastered it. The skills I have learned have really come in handy. I hope I learn a lot more. Because you'll always need them especially during middle school because it is where your life really starts.I really want some pointers on how to keep my locker clean. Because it is not as clean as I want it to be. Obviously I will learn these skills from my friends. Because there lockers are very neat. Well most of them have tidy lockers. I don't really need to learn many more skills in my opinion. Because I am doing well so far in my middle school life. I can handle myself now. It is a good feeling of accomplishment. w year are a) make more friends b) get straight A+'s and to win a silver medal in fencing. Because the highest I got was bronze and in most of the competitions I get bronze. My competition think it is good for my age but I know I can do better. I have been fencing for a long time now and that is my goals. So those are my goals for the next six months.

Reflection and Feedback

I really liked the book that I got and I think it is because it had adventure and action also betrayal. It was mainly because of the genre and the way it was written. It had a great storyline and base which made it interesting. It also was based in a different time and it had all sorts of characters in it. I think that it had a nice ending and the way it all came together. Which all relates to storyline because if you don't have a good storyline you have only words on paper. What was your favorite part? My favorite part was when the mutiny showed it's face and Canrick came out of hiding. It was my favorite part because captain Jaggery took charge and brought order back. I thought whoa if I was one of the sailors in the mutiny I would never be on the side against him. Because out of nowhere he just fired the musket and there was just complete silence after that.In my opinion the whole message was people are not what they seem like and they act differently around different people. That people can change greatly in a short period of time. Because we all make decisions everyday and these decisions usually influence on us and they really leave a scarr. We decide who to be with who to hang out with what we were to do and at the end everyone goes a different way. Because everyone is unique in their own way and people aren't what they seem like after all. Because Charlotte in the begining was a proper lady and she acted diffferently to how she acts now. Well in front of people. Well I think the project was good. The assignments required me to think out of the box not just to look at the surface but at it's content and hidden information. This helped me understand the book and what the author wanted the reader to think. It was in my opinion great and I hope to do more like this. The one thing I would have changed would have been the selection of books. To maybe more of you know action adventure and maybe somefantasy in it. Possibly midevil times but also some civilization. Not just a prince a dragon and a princess. The prince vanquishes the dragon and '' get's the girl'' but much deeper. An example would be INK HEART. The book was great but if I could read another lit cirles book would be HATCHET if not possible maybe MAROO OF THE WINTERCAVES. So that is my Reflection and feedback. I hope you enjoyed my thoughts.

The Missing Chapter

I think the novel was great. It had adventure action and betrayal. I would give it 4.782 out of 5. The book had great characters and storyline. It was very well written. Charlotte was a normal English girl trying to satisfy every adult in her world. She was a kid who was put into a grown up world a world without freedom. All the decisions that faced her in her life so far were decided for her. She had to become a proper lady she was raised to be a mature lady with manners and lady like behavior. Her father spent a lot of money taking her to school paying for tuition to make her perfect something that no one can be. She was trying to impress every one. Then one day she was told that she was going to sail on a ship and rejoin her family. So she was escorted by one of her father’s friends to a ship. The Seahawk a ship that everyone seemed to keep well away from. She got onboard and the two family escorts her father had planned to travel with her didn’t show up. She was forced to go on board anyway. She was one proper lady with a crew of sailors and one captain who she had thought a gentleman. Oh contraire this man was no gentle man. He was a sick madman. He had a crazy way of getting what he wanted. He was in rule over everybody aboard the Seahawk during their journey to providence. He was a supreme ruler, judge and jury. She at first tried to avoid the sailors because her father had told her to stay close to captain Jaggery. Later she found out about him and had to turn to the crew instead. But she still trusted him at quite a high level. The journey had many high lights. But one of the most important was the mutiny with Mr. Canrick. It was when the captain proved he was more than capable to handle them all. The second highlight was when charlotte had a faceoff with captain Jaggery. It was a battle at the edge of the ship. But the captain had relied on luck. He learned luck can be unpredictable and it won’t last. He should have stuck to chance. The third highlight was when they reached providence. It was when Charlotte made a life changing decision. She had to choose over family of the Seahawk. She chose the Seahawk because it was her true home. It was a well thought out decision. The storyline was great and it fit perfectly.

If it continued I think that Charlottes father would send for charlotte. You know send a ship and its crew to retrieve her. Because he spent a lot of money on her. Also because she turned her back on him and joined a group of sailors. She went to the Seahawk the place she says is her true home. Where they don't judge her, where they don’t set a standard for her and if she doesn’t meet it get disappointed and make her work to reach the standard that was set. Where she can make her own decisions. She is more or less free there. That is her true home at least now. Charlotte chose the crew of the Seahawk over him and the rest of her family. I think that the fact will make him angry. I think that he might become like captain Jaggery. Maybe he will go mad. Because I think it would be a great continue of the original story. Or possibly he might leave them alone but someone else will attempt to destroy them. Maybe the Seahawk would become famous. So maybe another ship that may be famous would track and hunt them until the Seahawk and all of its crew was dead. So they might have an epic battle on the Caribbean. Until the Seahawk prevailed. Then maybe the owners would send a fleet of battle ships after them. There would be a huge battle and the Seahawks members would have to ask some help from some former friends. So maybe Charlotte would have to ask her father. Who might accept and join them in the epic battle.

But it was a great novel and I recommend it to people who like action adventure because it had plenty of it. The book was great and it put many thoughts into my head about what was going to happen next. So my predictions are that Charlottes father would send for her. Or maybe a powerful man would become their rival and go to anything to kill the Seahawk and its crew. Both are possible and I can’t wait for a sequel to come out. Anything is possible but I don’t know I’m not the writer. But I have to say well written.

Lit circles #3

Hey guys! Charlotte has really changed and not just a little she has gone a long way. She went from proper lady to sailor aboard the seahawk ( a ship with a captain hated by all ). I think it is because she preferes being free over being a proper lady. She has realized that freedom is something that is more important than manners and rules. It is something everyone wants but only a few get it because they take the risks that would lead to it. She has realized that life doesn't last for ever so you should live thetime you have the way you want to and not how someone else wants you to life it. To not let anybody be in controll of your life except you. To do things how you like not how others do and want to see you do. I think that if her father saw her at the moment he wouldn't belive that she was his daughter. The daughter that he spent so much money turning her to a proper lady. He would be appauled and dissapointed. To see her turn into someone who was no better off than a commoner.I would have to agree with him. She really was nomore a proper lady.She is a good person but she actually is a quite foolish person as well. She actually only judges people of how her mind thinks they are. She assumes the best in everybody which has brought her only trouble a problems. She thinks that everybody is a good person. But there are some bad people out there. ( Like captain Jaggery. ) She has now become more of a ruffigain. That's my word for someone who likes to ruff it and can do it, someone who is really a sailor person ( fit, athletic and loyal). She has really changed so far. She is a completely different person. She has learned to be her own person now.

P.s: She went from the person her father created to the person at the top ( except for the image I meant on the inside she changed).

The second Lit. circle

120 sixth graders went to their classes. I went to humanities. The humanities classrooms were full of excitement, novels and sheets in hand. People had different feelings on tuesdays now. It was because of litrature circles. For we had them every tuesday. But most of the people were nervous because, people didn't score well on the first litrature circles day. Also because they could make up for their previous score. Although I got the score I had excepted.Ms. Narsiman walked in and silence fell upon the class. Every body was so still and quiet if you walked in you would think that we were all part of a sculpture. Then after a minute of silence we took our seats and began.

One of my passages was when the main character in my book charlotte was having nightmares. I had picked this passage because it made me go back and make my previous argument move convincing. Because I thought that maybe the captian had maybe snuck something into charlottes food. I thought this because of how the author described her nightmares. She explained them as though they weren't natural. As though someone was making them happen. That they were giving here something that controlled them. The author had said that in one of her nightmares she was so scared that she had pulled out the dirk that Zachariah had given her. The dirk that she said she was never going to use. So in my opinion it must have been something strong that he had given her. Because the dirk she had promised to herself was never going to leave it's hiding spot. How we dicussed this changed my understanding. It made me think that Jaggery is a bad man. I thought that the crew must want to murder him. I thought maybe he was the one who would get murdered later on. I thought that the thing that she might be getting was urging her to act barbaric. Urging her enough to throw the dirk like she had. But maybe it was Zachariah. So that really made me think but I decided it was Captian Jaggery. Because he has a very high dispicibility level. That's all that really happened in my disscusion.

Literature circles!

I raced to the library. I was in such a rush because it was the first day of literature circles. Why was I running to the library you ask well I hadn't printed my discussion sheet and I had humanities first period. So as soon as I got into the library's computer lab I snagged the last computer before another student could use the computer. I inserted my flash drive and printed my discussion sheet. Then I looked at the clock it was 8:05 I was late for home group. So I sprinted all the way there. It was now 8:15 it was time to get to humanities.

When I got there I realized that more than one person had forgotten to bring their discussion sheet. Ms. Narsiman walked into the class room and I knew it was time to begin. Since I was the only boy who got the book ''True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle'' Ms. Narsiman asked me witch group I wanted to join. It was a tough decision so as any other person in my situation would have done I used the method of ini meeni miene mo. I ended up joining Cindy, Betty and Irene's group. When I was settled in Ms. Narsiman went to her desk, and I knew she had cued us to begin.


So I started the group of with my three important passages. When we got past Irene, and cindy I really thought. The litriture circles idea was clearly a great idea I could tell that not only I was getting help from this. Because there were passages I didn't quite understand. After we finished with them I completely understanded those passages I was even making predictions, and relating to them.

Although I really understood the book we still had one more person to go. It was that persons work that really made me think. It was Betty's important passages really made me think what was going to happen next it was at that time that I made a prediction. It was a prediction relating to Zachariah. I thought that Zachariah was trying to get Charlotte on his side so that later on like it said in the introduction that she was accused of murder and found guilty. I had the prediction that maybe Zachariah was going to murder someone using the knife he gave her and put it back in her room. The knife would be drenched in blood and in her room, then he would probably accuse her himself and pretend to find evidence. This could be fake evidence that he set up after he murdered the mystery person. As anyone that would be handed this evidence she would be found guilty as it says she was found guilty in the story when she was taken to court. The disscusion really helped me understand some parts of the book that didn't quite make sense to me. It helped me make several more detailed predictions to. I think that the litrature circles disscusion was a great disscusion I think that not only I found it helpful but I think that others did to. I can't wait to see what happens next in my book. Then share it with my group.

Courage something that changed my life

Prompt: During your journey through ‘life’ something will happen in which you learn something new or surprising about yourself. In the book Call it Courage Mafatu heads out on a journey to prove to his friends and father that he is not a coward. This journey will change his life.For some of us courage is facing our fears, reaching the top of the climbing wall, mastering a skill or just helping others in need.So write about a time that you showe courage.

On a trip to the waterfalls with my family. I showed courage. It was a nice peaceful day me and my family were going to the waterfalls to have dinner. We took our food with us. It was a long drive to the waterfalls. When we did get to the waterfallls we saw a group of monkeys. I had thought that the monkey's were peaceful. Since there was another group of people and the monkeys were just playing around with them. It looked quite funny because the monkeys were jumping all over them. So we took our food out of the trunk and started our walk to the pic-nic spot. We had been walking for about ten minutes toward the pic-nic spot. I saw my cousin struggle with the bags of food. It was first then that I had realized that a monkey had been following us. But then I thought maybe the monkey was just going to it's home or to it's young. Anyways why would a monkey follow us. To get my mind of the topic I, started to day dream about the pic-nic. A nice table out in the open next to the water falls. Delicious food and a nice cool cup of apple juice. It all sounded so nice in my head. Then I noticed it again the monkey was still following us. Maybe the monkey wasn't going to her youngybe the monkey was really following us. So this time I told my mother, she said that maybe she was following the sent of the food we were carrying. I thought maybe. We all just kept walking like there was nothing wrong. But now we were walking at a much faster pace. Before we knew it the monkey was right in front of us. He growled I threw the tissue box in my hand up in the air. My aunt threw the plastic plates in her hand, and screamed. The monkey pulled tissues out of the tissue box and riped the plates apart. My mom had tried to scare her away but she scowled at my mom. Next we all made a run for it. We ended up going to a public park and eating there. It wasn't what I had expected but it sure was a night to remember.

This little insident had changed completely what I think about monkeys. It showed me that things don't always end up the way you think they will. That's an important lesson to learn.

School

1.The successes that you have had so far ~ things that you believe you are coping very well with in Middle School.

I think that I am doing well. Adjusting to middle school life. I think I'm doing okay overall with my locker and schedule so I think I'm getting the hang of things. I would call my self an expert with getting around and things like that. I'm doing well in classes and I think that I'm pretty organized. My schedule is working well for me. I'm getting my homework done and I have time to spare with my projects and work. So I think middle school life is working out well for me.

2.The things that you know that you need to work harder on/pay attention to.

I think that I'm putting all my effort into my work. So I'm trying to improve even harder now. It is one of the only things I'm going to pay alot of attention to. Because I'm trying my hardest in school. Trying to get good grades and that's what I think really count's.

A social scientist

Prompt; Over the last couple of weeks we talked about social scientists like archaeologists and historians.


If I could be any type of social scientist. I would want to be a historian. Because I like reading and history. I would study mostly the roman wars. Because I think that the topic is interesting. Also a historian because I think it would be a cool job. Roman time I think was the most interesting time every. The time period was filled with war. It was a time where many things took there primitive form. Mostly because I think that Rome was quite interesting back then. That is what job I would pick, a historian is somebody who studies history witch is pretty cool you have to admit. I would pick historian over archaeologist, anthropologist or geographer any day. Mostly because I LOVE history. Because if the past didn't happen we wouldn't have the world we have now. Because people didn't just build large houses or condos they started of living in caves and slowly developed. If we just started of with big buildings we would have never improved our way or life. Probably in a hundred years people might have houses in the sky. It is just how life is we start simple then get better and better. That's why I picked historian because I think it is cool to learn about the past. But that's just how I am.
